Lee’s Palace, Toronto – October 6, 2010.
Lee’s Palace is one of my favourite venues in Toronto. The lighting is great and the crowd always give it a great atmosphere. Chapterhouse headlined, supported by Ulrich Schnauss and Toronto’s own Fjord Rowboat. Fjord Rowboat were really great. They played their set with a lot of energy and it was clear that the crowd enjoyed the warm-up. The band have recently put out a new CD – Under Cover of Brightness. I will be all over it like a cheap suit. Ulrich Schnauss – of GNR plagiarism fame – was next and although his set was entertaining it seemed to turn the energy levels down a notch. The crowd had come to see Chapterhouse of course, and after a swift stage change they were on. Chapterhouse come across as a great but humble group of lads, happy to be back on the road and plying their trade across North America. Stephen and Andrew shared the spotlight terrifically but the entire band provided a great tight set -aside from some technical challenges with an effects pedal and some discussion over a chord progression – all in good fun of course.
